Hate Bias Student Advisory Group (HBSAG)
What do we do?
- The Hate Bias Student Advisory Group (HBSAG) supports Bias Incident Support Services by providing student insight, recommendations, and assistance to empower the team’s goals, services, visibility, and overall effectiveness. The Hate Bias Student Advisory Group (HBSAG) consists of undergraduate and graduate students from various backgrounds, experiences, and studies.
- The group meets monthly during the fall and spring semesters to discuss campus issues, how BISS can better support community members, and how campus partners may be involved with response to these incidents. In addition to meeting, members also represent BISS and ODI throughout the University community and assist in increasing the visibility of BISS' services. All members also have the opportunity to support BISS in programming efforts such as Stop the Hate trainings, free speech panels, and restorative sessions like The Circle.
Our current HBSAG members are involved with several different parts of campus such as Student Government Association (SGA), The Pride Alliance, Hamsa, and University Student Judiciary (USJ)
